At the 16th ESA Conference (ESA 2024), held from 27 to 30 August in Porto, Portugal, the project and, in particular, the systematic investigation of water conflicts were presented.
The talk by Simon Brauner, entitled ‘Water conflicts: More than conflicts over distribution?‘, addressed the social aspects of conflicts against the backdrop of the sociological focus of the European Sociological Association conference. The questions that arose following the presentation and the other contributions on the topic of water demonstrated the significance of interactions around the resource of water for sociology, particularly in terms of future research.
