On 13 and 14 May, 2025, the ZuWako project organized a workshop on policy design under uncertainty. This workshop served to prepare the special issue (topical collection) of the same name of the European Journal of Futures Research, Springer Nature. This topical collection serves as the final methodological report of the ZuWaKo project and at the same time embeds our approach in the more general discussion, how good policy design can address complexity, goal conflict and future uncertainty.
In Frankfurt, Main, representatives of the Universities of Stuttgart, Freiberg and Forschungszentrum Jülich met with the co-guest editors Dr. Sara Tori and Prof. Geert te Boveldt from VUB, Belgium. We have discussed different approaches to “policy mix scenarios” or “policy strategies” as well as the concept of “robustness”. Overall, we have specified the topic of the special edition and sharpened the individual contributions.
